1breadcrumb Application

Cooke & Dowsett are excited to be introducing the 1breadcrumb application into our business. We are rolling out the application which is a private geofencing app that acts as a virtual wallet, private check in and check out service, and workplace mapping tool. It alerts managers if their staff or patrons have been in contact with someone onsite with COVID-19, therefore helping to mitigate the risk of potential outbreaks.

Ultimately, the 1breadcrumb system puts the power back into the hands of Cooke & Dowsett while complying with Worksafe mapping and OH&S protocols. Workplace safety has always been a top priority for us and this tool is really improving our safety & efficiency for all staff and visitors.

The platform is currently being used by Cooke & Dowsett on the University of Melbourne – Student Precinct Project and will continue to be utilised across other projects in Australia and New Zealand.

Other industries looking for a simple solution to contract tracing have embraced this technology and are engaging 1breadcrumb to assist with managing an automated checking process while ensuring the privacy of users.

2019/2020 Community Plumbing Challenge

Representation on the World Stage – 2019/2020 Community Plumbing Challenge

Congratulations to Cooke & Dowsett Project Manager Paul Harrington who has been selected to represent the Australian Plumbing Industry in the upcoming Community Plumbing Challenge (CPC) in Untia Village, Makassar, Sulawesi - Indonesia.

While many parts of the world enjoy clean water from modern sanitation technology and water systems provided by professional plumbers, many other parts remain trapped in a vicious circle of poor health and hygiene conditions due to the lack of effective water management expertise.

The CPC aims to deliver small, smart and simple steps, that can go some way towards solving these bigger problems. The program aims to demonstrate the power of plumbing, engineering and design, showcasing the best young, international skilled talent and deliver real health benefits in threatened communities.

Paul will form part of an international team who will connect and contribute to CPC’s ultimate goal: to improve living conditions, public health and hygiene through hands-on implementation and community partnership. The project is to build and connect a toilet block for a village in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Paul will head to Indonesia for one week in November for the projects design phase and will head back in May 2020 for the construction phase.

Australia’s involvement in the CPC is managed by International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) and the Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC). We look forward to sharing Paul’s experiences in Indonesia.

Cooke Dowsett

Cooke & Dowsett Queensland staff recently participated in a personalised Geberit presentation of their new product, SuperTube which will be used at our current project 443 Queen Street Brisbane – Australia’s first premium subtropical residential apartment tower.

The SuperTube technology is a space gaining system creating a continuous column of air in the discharge pipe, meaning a parallel ventilation pipe installation is no longer required. As a result, the Geberit SuperTube creates more usable space.

Cooke & Dowsett are also one of the first commercial hydraulic companies to apply this system in Victoria at the Quest Hotel Project in Ballarat.
