- SOUTH AUSTRALIAN POLICE HEADQUARTERS (SAPOL)SOUTH AUSTRALIAN POLICE HEADQUARTERS (SAPOL)SOUTH AUSTRALIAN POLICE HEADQUARTERS (SAPOL)
Location: Adelaide, South Australia
Builder: Built Environs
Client: Commercial & General
The first new purpose designed building in the YCC precinct was pre-leased to the South Australia Police to be their main headquarters. It will be tailored to meet the long term operational and security requirements of the South Australian Police.
The net lettable office space of approximately 18,000sqm over 10 occupied floors (including ground level) is supported by a basement carpark, delivery zone and welcoming public lobby. The building will bring together staff currently located on 4 sites across Adelaide. The concept design, functions and workgroups located within the headquarters will reinforce the building as the centre for support and leadership of the police force and within the community.
The extensive public lobby provides direct access to media, meeting and recruiting facilities, enhancing the ability for South Australia Police to interact with external stakeholders, whilst maintaining the integrity and security of their internal operations. The culture of the South Australian Police is reinforced throughout the internal space. Warmth, texture and order are all represented through pattern, furniture and materials that have been selected for their robustness and environmentally sustainable properties. Such details support the healthy environment of a building aiming to meet a 5 Star Nabers tenancy rating. Both base and fit out are registered with Green Star.
