This $140 million research and education facility provides excellent opportunities for industry to collaborate with Swinburne’s leading researchers and access state-of-the art research facilities. The street frontage of the ATC is dominated by a massive Smart Structures Laboratory which houses equipment that can apply extreme loads to buildings. It is here that scientists and engineers will test the construction materials of the future.
Alongside the laboratory are social and teaching spaces, including a 500 seat lecture theatre that will also be used to host public forums and community events. Behind the building’s 3-storey front section are two towers, each 10 storeys high. One is dedicated to research and the other is reserved for the education of tertiary, postgraduate and TAFE students.

The Sir Robert Menzies Building, the first building on the Monash Clayton campus, is subject to a heritage overlay and has 850 resident staff who will remain whilst each of the eleven floors are being redeveloped.
Refurbishment of the existing Sir Robert Menzies building includes a new remote reinforced concrete lift core with a connecting bridge to enable more efficient people movement throughout the building. The existing building has been gutted out and strengthened to create an open plan, common space.

TTR is a new Teaching, Training and Research Centre for the University of Melbourne and Western Health. The 5 level building will house lecture theatres, seminar facilities, PC 2 laboratories and offices to attract nursing and medical students and staff to a collaborative learning environment. Existing structure to be refurbished includes the 8 bed birth suite, including the addition of 2 new beds, and a 38 bed Post Maternity Unit in staged construction.
Cooke & Dowsett were commissioned to supply and a hydraulic services package, not limited to the installing the sewer system, water supply and the stormwater system including syphonic system.

The Walter & Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research is one of Australia’s foremost medical research establishments, whose mission is “Mastery of disease through discovery”. The project to be undertaken has 2 phases. The first is the construction of a new building of approximately 29,000m2. This building will include an underground car park and 8 above ground levels, which will consist of laboratories, lecture rooms, mechanical plant, as well as animal holding components incorporated into some of the laboratories. The second is a refurbishment of part of the existing building both during and following the construction of the new building.
The new buildings will accommodate 400+ research staff.
Cooke & Dowsett were commissioned to complete a hydraulic plumbing package including; hot and cold water services and the sanitary plumbing system including PC3 laboratories.

This facility is being constructed for Monash University and CSIRO for research activities on material engineering including computational and physical modelling of manufactured products and services in the bio-medical, aerospace and renewable energy fields. The development will establish the Monash University Clayton Innovation Precinct as the most significant technology innovation hub in the southern hemisphere.
The New Horizons Project is a key component in the 10 year vision for a long term, comprehensive strategy for the Clayton Innovation Precinct.
The building is a reinforced concrete structure of approximately 20,000m2 over four levels. The building is enclosed with an ‘iconic’ facade representing the high-tech nature of the research activities being conducted within. Comprising research space divided between open plan office and laboratories, including PC2 laboratories. Significant open areas for public circulation and meeting points have been design between the laboratory and office areas.

It also involves housing the Administration and the Head of School.
