ADCO – Newman Health Service

Newman Health Service

Works are progressing well at the Newman Health Service Redevelopment for ADCO Constructions. The CDPG team are thoroughly enjoying the warm climate and the beautiful landscape that the Pilbara Region offers.

ADCO's LinkedIn article:

"ADCO’s Newman Health Service redevelopment for WA Country Health Service is taking shape in the state's Pilbara Region.

Last year we were awarded the contract to build the $61.4 million hospital which is progressing well with 240 tonnes of structural steel now installed.

Once complete, the much-anticipated facility will include 12 in-patient beds, six emergency department bays, two dental chairs and GP consultation spaces, in addition to dedicated rooms for outpatient consults, therapy, medical imaging and pathology.

The hospital will offer the latest in country healthcare and telehealth. Other health services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and mental health will also be supported when the facility is complete in 2023. The existing Newman Hospital remains operational during construction."

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

1620953322802

We know that a broad range of issues can impact our workforce even at the best of times - relationship stress, alcohol and drug issues as well as financial and work-related stress.

At Cooke & Dowsett Plumbing Group (CDPG), we care about our people and aim to provide a healthy workplace, where our team are engaged, happier and healthier. We are proud to partner with Incolink to provide our EAP, which is designed to enhance the emotional, mental and general wellbeing of our team. Workers in the construction industry are over 50% more likely to take their own lives with young males aged 15-24 twice as likely to end their lives compared to the general population.

This week in conjunction with Incolink we launched our EAP nationwide and heard from Brendan O’Dowd (Incolink) who presented us with an insight into managing mental health in the workplace.

We will continue to engage with and support our employees who now have access to a wide range of resources thanks to our partnership with Incolink.

Ballarat Goods Shed

Ballarat Goods Shed 7

CDPG were proud to support this local Ballarat project - congratulations to all involved!

LinkedIn article:

"Exciting to see #BallaratGovHub on the eve of its launch this April. Built by Kane Constructions Pty Ltd and Nicholson Construction, it is the largest mass timber structure in regional Australia and provides spectacular panoramic views of one of Australia’s golden cities. It was certainly sparkling on Friday as Industry Capability Network - Victoria toured the 4 levels of this State Govt project with Richard Nicholson and Kyle of Nicholson Construction. The Kane Nicholson consortium represents 2 firms committed to regional Victoria over many years. It is the largest endeavour for local family-owned Nicholson Construction (est in 1889 and based in Ballarat) who are part of building yet another legacy for Ballarat #construction . Up to 230 workers have been on site daily, and it has over-achieved in terms of supporting #localapprentices and trainees. All that, and it looks wonderful, especially the local Krause Bricks (from Stawell) complementing the Zinc cladding. I am sure that the 800 people who are soon to make it their working home will be comfortable in this building and precinct."
